Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

I hope everyone has amazing plans for today! This is my favorite time of the year, unfortunately I won't be having a great time. Just like every other Thursday, I have class and I refuse to miss. So everyone be safe tonight taking out your kids for trick or treating, and eat a piece of candy for me!

Last night I decided to go to the Dollar Tree and get my god children a little halloween gift. My god daughter is 3 1/2 and my god son is 2. Tell me how I came out of there and spent $43 dollars. My friend was flabbergasted that I spent that much in the dollar store. It takes a special person to spend that much! I didn't realize it when I was putting it all in the cart! But, I love to spoil my babies... so I didn't mind!

Treat Bags for my GodBabies!

What are you and your kiddos dressing up as for Halloween!?  Hayden is being a cowgirl and Zeke is being a cowboy! They are too darn cute. Growing up my Mom use to make my sister and me costumes. I think my favorite costume ever was when she made me a crunch bar costume. I still have it somewhere, I may have to pull it out next year. However, I think it will be more like a slutty crunch bar... may have to reconsider and get Mom to make a new one! :)  What was your favorite Halloween costume growing up!?!

It's not Halloween without Thriller!!! :)

Birthday Weekend Ahead!

Hello everyone! Is it Friday yet?!?

Yes, I know... it's only Tuesday, don't remind me. Although I had a fantastic weekend this past weekend, I'm ready for this coming weekend! It's my birthday weekend. I really don't have anything spectacular planned, but I get to spend time with my family and that's all that matters.

After 2 weeks of being off, I finally get to go back on the field and play some kickball. Seeing as how we've had hockey the last two weekends, I haven't gotten to go kick the balls around! So I'm excited to get back out there and have some fun. Then it'll be time to go home and see my crazy nephew! My puppy-nephew is coming to stay the weekend with me since my sister and brother-in-law will be in town! Poor Jonas just doesn't know what he's in for! Texas isn't quite the puppy anymore, so it'll be interesting.

Texas when he was 3 months old..He took up half the bed..
He's over a year old now.. I'm screwed.

This is how Texas is 24/7.
What a loving dog! haha
Saturday afternoon will be sister time! Plus Joshua!! Cause I love him. I think I am going to see if my sister and brother in law want to go out to Hunt Club Farms to get pumpkins and such. I think Josh will come with for the simple fact that he can go and see the farm animals in the petting zoo! :) I'm pretty sad that I haven't gone to the pumpkin patch yet, so maybe that will be the perfect opportunity. Saturday evening is our family trip to Howl-o-scream at Busch Gardens. The weather is suppose to be a pretty perfect fall night so I'm pretty excited. My sister and I both love halloween, so this is a must!

Sunday I'm hoping to go see my grandmother down in Elizabeth City. The Ablemarle Craftman's Fair always falls on my birthday weekend. There's nothing more that I love doing for my birthday than going down there to see my grandmother and go to the craft fair. It always brings back amazing memories. My grandfather use to be in it every year, and since he passed... it's where I feel closest to him, besides hockey. They always have all kinds of vendors, but it's great to see the regulars every year who have watched me grow up. What a better way to spend my birthday!?!

My lovely Grandmother on the right! :)

I'm Not So Crafty.

I told you all last week that I was going to attempt to make a wreath for my house. I saw an awesome post on Pinterest where a girl had done one for her favorite football team! I decided that it didn't look like it would be very hard to do... so I made up my mind that I was going to try one!

Keep in mind... I'm not crafty at all! So I enlisted the help of my wonderful Mother! We went on a for some tulle, letters, paint, and wreath! This is what we found!

I ended up getting 5 yards of each color of tulle. I also got a bag of plain letters... I tried to get the ones that were already done at Michaels, but of course they were missing one of the letters I needed. So I purchased some white spray paint, as well as glitter to go over top of the white.

It was quite simple, but I like things to look perfect and unfortunately they weren't! However, I think the wreath turned out quite decent! I may add a couple of small things, but for now... here is my wreath!!!

As you can see, I probably used too much fabric in the beginning. I should have measured each strip and yadda yadda yadda, but I didn't. I had absolutely NO method to my madness! After it was all done we took the scissors to it, so we could trim it up! Here is the final product so far! Don't laugh! And thank to my mom for helping me out!

Right Back At It Again

I promise to have the wreath finished tonight and have a post about it tomorrow or Friday. You can take my word for it! :)

Monday night was nothing short of amazing. My favorite band of all time is A Day to Remember. Unfortunately I've never gotten to go see them, but that finally changed. As soon as I found out they were coming to town, I looked up tickets and VIP packages. I found the VIP with one package being $200 and the other being $75. I was ready to pay the $200 just to meet the guys.... unfortunately, I found the VIP stuff too late and both packages were sold out. What a bummer!! It's ok, there's always next time! I'm always scared to go see bands I really like perform, in case they suck in person. Thankfully that wasn't the case with ADTR. They were truly phenomenal. The band was formed out of Ocala, FL and is made up of Jeremy McKinnon, Neil Westfall, Kevin Skaff, Josh Woodard, and Alex Shelnut. They just released a new album last week called, Common Courtesy. You can only buy it on their website right now, but it is definitely worth it. I absolutely love the album.  I will definitely be seeing them any time they are in the vicinity of this area again... and I'll have my $200 ready next time!

Now here is a little bit of a photo dump from the concert.. It's obviously not all of the ones that I took, but its a sample. :) Enjoy! And go youtube them and buy their album!

ADTR

Welcome back to another dreary morning! BUT, I think the sun is suppose to come out today. Even though today is Monday, I'm in a great mood. Today is the day that I finally get to go the incredible Jeremy McKinnon and the rest of the guys in A Day To Remember.

I absolutely love ADTR. Though they've played around here before, this is my first time seeing them and I couldn't be any more excited than I am. I was going to get VIP tickets but I was too late and they were sold out. :( Sad Face. Thanks to awesomely fabulous friend Matt for going with me!

This weekend went pretty well! How could it not.... hockey was back in town. Friday night the Admirals came out blazing in the first period and scored 5 goals. That meant in the first period we got free wings! However, after that first period.. I was pretty disappointed. Saturday was pretty lame as well. I'm hoping the Admirals get their act together before this weekend. I wanna see some better hockey.

I did work on my wreath, but it's not finished yet. I will definitely post a picture once I am done. I have realized thought, that even the simplest DIY project... is not for me. I have no crafty skills what so ever... Like at all! Thank god I have an amazing Mother who knows a thing or two about crafting. Now only if she could find the hot glue gun so I can finish with the final touches!

I hope you all have a fantastic week! I figured I would leave you today with an awesome picture of a male cheerleader! Can anyone guess who it is!?!

When Life Throws You a Rainy Day, Play in the Puddles!

"It's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring."

I know that things have been dry lately, with little rain... but dang is it making up for it now! Rain for pretty much a week straight... That's no fun. All this rain makes me want to do is put some pjs on, curl up in bed with the pup, and watch movies all day. Unfortunately life doesn't stop for a little bit lot of rain, so on with life we go.

To cheer up my mood, I've been thinking about all the exciting things going on this weekend. Most importantly, HOCKEY COMES BACK TO NORFOLK! That's right, the Norfolk Admirals are in town for their home opener Friday night! If you don't have any plans, you should definitely go... you can buy tickets HERE! They are suppose to be having a party on the plaza before the game, but I'm not sure how it's going to work with the game. I'm also hoping kickball is cancelled so that my friends can make the game on time. I streamed the game from Saturday night online and the team was looking pretty good, let's hope they keep it up and get a win for the home crowd.

Saturday is clean up/grocery/craft day. My bright self evidently left the freezer door open all day yesterday... so now everything I had in there, is ruined. I guess that gives me a good reason to give the freezer a good scrub down right!?! I always plan to get up early on the weekends and do some cleaning...but it never happens. This Saturday is no different, I plan to get up early and get stuff done. Crossing my fingers that I don't just decide to be lazy since it will be rainy! Saturday afternoon is going to be spent doing crafts! Now don't get your hopes up for pictures of these awesome crafts I do... I'm not crafty at all. I want to make my house look a little more "homey" so I found a link on how to make an easy wreath. I decided that since it's hockey season, I'll try to make a Flyer's wreath. I'll be sure to post a picture so you can either laugh at my embarrassment of a "wreath", or be blown away by my awesome crafting abilities that I got out of thin air. I'm pretty much guessing it will be the first option! Hey, at least I'm going to try! Saturday evening will be spent at the Scope Arena to see home game #2 for the Norfolk Admirals. :)

Sunday seems like the perfect day to throw something yummy in the crock pot and watch football all day! I'm trying to cut back on spending, so instead of going out and watching the game like a cool person... I'll be staying home making yummy food, and maybe even baking! I also will have to make sure I'm finished up with The Walking Dead Season 3 since Season 4 premieres Sunday night!!! I  want to start on the show "Orange is the New Black". I've heard a lot of good things about it.

What are some awesome shows that you would recommend me watching? What are you favorite things to do when it's rainy outside?

Just Another Week

Hello Everyone and Happy Monday! After having such a great weekend I'm ready to take this week on head on. Friday night was the usual kickball night, though we lost. Instead of going out afterwards, I decided to go snuggle up with the dog and watch some hockey. Trust me, Jonas was happy with my decision. Yes, I'm that loser that sits home on a Friday night and watches hockey! After realizing that Cox is showing NHL Center Ice for free til the 19th, I've done nothing but watch games. Might as well take advantage of it while I can right!? I hoping that I can get Center Ice as a birthday present this year. Either from myself or my parents. HINT HINT MOM AND DAD! :)

Saturday we headed back down to Nags Head. Mom and I relaxed on the beach for a while. The weather was so incredibly nice down there! I even got in the water.. and it felt amazing. Saturday evening was the Norfolk Admirals season opener in Hartford. The team has a lot of new faces on it this year, so I decided to stream the game online! I'm liking what I'm seeing with the new team for sure! They ended up winning in a shootout!

Sunday afternoon my family and me went to Chesapeake City Park for Bark in the Park! Though it was a bit too hot, we had a great time! Jonas rode is my mom's dog stroller the whole time since he isn't too fond of other dogs. :) After that was over, I went to watch the football game with a couple friends. Luckily the Eagles pulled out the win.

This week is suppose to be pretty yucky, so I don't have much planned for this week other than school and homework. I'm pretty proud of myself, as I have A's in all 3 of my classes!  I do have an exam in accounting tonight so I definitely need to do a bit more studying for that here in a bit. I'm just ready for the weekend! Well I need to go do some actual work today and do some studying! I'll catch up with y'all later!

Pot Roast

Happy Hump Day!
and happy Flyers hockey day!!!!

My brain isn't really working properly today, seeing as how I'm feeling a bit under the weather. Let's hope it's just sinuses. I hate being sick so tonight will consist of my bed, medicine, and watching hockey. I'm incredibly excited to watch my Flyers play tonight, even if I have to stream it online. I would love to think up an awesome post for you guys today, but the truth of the matter is... I'm not!

However, I never did post the recipe for my pot roast the other day... so that's what you're getting today. I'll give you the recipe, then tell you about how mine turned out and what I would change about it!

What you need:
Crock Pot
Crock Pot Bags (I like less clean up, you don't have to use one!)
London Broil (Mine was about 2 lbs)
Potatoes (As many as you'd like)
Carrots ( I used baby carrots, less work!)
Package of onion soup mix
Package of brown gravy mix
Can of Cream of Mushroom Soup
Water

Directions:

1. Put meat in the crock pot.
2. Wash and cut up potatoes, then put in crock pot.
3. Add carrots.
4. Sprinkle brown gravy mix and dry onion soup mix. Spoon cream of mushroom over everything. Fill can up with water and dump in. Put lid on.
5. Cook on low all day.

This was my first time making one, so of course I will be tweaking some things next time. Instead of using a london broil, you can use rump roast or pork roast. My mom always uses london broil, that's why I chose that. My pot roast turned out really good but a little bit dry, to correct that, I won't be adding the brown gravy mix. I think that's the only thing I'm really going to change. Instead I'll use the liquid from the pot roast and heat that with the gravy when I'm ready to eat. That way made it won't be as dry. It was still very delicious and I had left overs for days!  Try it out and let me know how you tweaked it, and how it turned out!

Preseason Meet N Greet

Today is the day that hockey fans have been waiting for... It's the opening night of the 2013-2014 NHL season. In celebration of hockey being back, my friends and me will be heading up to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the Caps/Blackhawks game! If you're in the area, feel free to come join us! I'll definitely be rooting on the defending Stanley Cup Champions... the Chicago Blackhawks.

Saturday evening after the Norfolk Admirals Exhibition game the season ticket holders got to the be Admirals that were there that night. Keep in mind that some of these guys will not be here for the regular season, seeing as how the final roster hasn't been released yet. I have names on most of the photos, but I don't remember who a couple of them were! Who's going to be your favorite Admiral this season?!

Really wish I would have remembered to take a better camera, Sorry!

Now here are the boys!
