Long Distance Isn't for the Faint of Hearts.

"Distance is not for the fearful, it is for the bold. It's for those who are willing to spend a lot of time alone in exchange for a little time with the one they love. It's for those knowing a good thing when they see it, even if they don't see it nearly enough..."

I guess you can figure out that I am in a long distance relationship by now. I always thought the people who were in LDRs were a bit crazy. I didn't understand how someone could go without seeing the one they love for months on end. That was, until I met the amazing man who I now call my boyfriend. I've been with him for about a year and a half now, and it's been the most amazing time of my life.

It all started on February 12, 2011. Yes I know, weird I know the date I met him. But it was actually my father's birthday, that's how I remember. I went out to the club with one of my best friends for her birthday. And we met these cute Canadian boys... And if you know me... you would understand my love for Canada and Canadians. Well I saw this extremely handsome man who wore a plaid shirt and a cabbie hat. I tried to scoot my way on over to talk to him, but he was having no parts of it.

All night I tried to talk to him and I continuously got shut down. I didn't know what it was about him that made me so persistent, but my goal was to get this guy to talk to me. Well it never happened and he ended up leaving that night with me only knowing his name and that he was from Canada.

Three weeks go by and it's Mardi Gras. I go out to what use to be my usual hang out, Big Woodys. I'm having a blast, throwing back a few adult beverages when who walks in... None other than mystery boy from the club. I start to freak out. My friend who was with me sees them and goes and sits down and starts to talk to him and his friends and tells me to come over there. I go over there and just sit there annoyed. This guy already shot me down once.. well many times in one night, so why try and get shot down again. Well the beverages kept flowing and the next morning he left to head back home. Spent all night hanging out and talking and getting to know each other better. I really did not want him to leave. I was loving spending time with him. I still only knew his name and that he was from Canada when he left. No contact information was exchanged between us at all.

This is where the world wide web comes in to play. I searched him on facebook and found someone who's profile picture I couldn't really make out. Ended up being him. I knew from that night at Big Woodys that I was going to fall for this guy.

And sure enough I have. He is the most amazing man I've ever been with. He's a kind, patient, understanding, funny, sarcastic, sweet, caring, thoughtful, sexy man ever. I can always count on him and I know I can always go to him with whatever is bothering me. Though we live 2500 miles apart...we make it work. My best friend & my boyfriend.

Awwwww so sappy right... Yea, he's turned me into one of those girls! :)

Pauly Shore Baby!

No no no. Don't get it confused.
I'm not talking about Pauly D from Jersey Shore.

I'm talking about Pauly Shore!!!

Good morning everyone!
Hope everyone's day is going well so far!

My morning started out the same way as always.
Getting up at the last minute, getting myself and the dog ready, and running out the door to try to get to work on time. Yes I bring my dog to work with me everyday! And, yes, he is a very spoiled pooch. Well on my way to work I was listening to the radio station and Pauly Shore just so happened to be on and talking about how he wanted to go to the Obama even this afternoon. (he stated he is neither a republican nor democrat) Well just so happened that I knew someone who has extra tickets... My Mother. So I called my mother up and told her to run up to the radio station and give him some tickets. My Aunt actually works at the radio station, so my mom called her up and told her to ask him if he wants the tickets. So Pauly Shore and his entourage sat there and waited for my mother to get there to give him the tickets. How freaking cool is that? My mother told him that I was listening and told her to take him the tickets since I was working. He thought that was too awesome. Momma got a picture with him for me. && Since he's performing at a comedy club in this area this weekend, I'm trying to get some tickets to go to his show. I got him free tickets for Obama, he can get me free tickets to his show! I just thought I was too cool, not going to lie. Not everyday that I get to help out a famous person.

Wait... please tell me you know who Pauly Shore is... !!!

Or maybe you know him looking more like this...

That's from the movie Encino Man.

He also stared in various films such as Bio-dome, Son in Law, A Goofy Movie, Class Act, In the Army Now, Jury Duty, Playboy, King of the Hill, Stonerville, Bucky Larson, and many others.

Too cool, eh?

Fingers crossed for me to get tickets to his show!!!

Ya had a bad day!

Sometimes things just don't work out like ya want them to.
&& Sometimes you get your hopes up just to watch them crash and burn.

At least that's what happened to me.
I was suppose to be heading to see my boyfriend next week.
But reasons, that aren't in his control, have stopped that.

It's ok though, he still gets to come here in November.
So let the count down begin!

This weekend, however, I am headed up to Baltimore/DC.
Orioles vs Red Sox.  YES PLEASE!
My Dad and I are Orioles fans, while my sister and her husband are Red Sox fans.
This will definitely be a fun weekend.
Hopefully making it by IKEA as well!

Next week I will be doing a recipe blog for you guys!
So be looking for that.

I would this week, but there's just no time!
That's the story of my life!

Just Another Monday in the Books.

Happy Monday Everyone!

Hoping that you all had a great weekend.
I know I did!

Darius Rucker on Friday night was amazing as usual.
Though I must say it is quite hard to dance in the rows between seats.
I prefer him much more out where I can sit on the lawn and dance around.
Fortunately we had VIP reception tickets.
That meant all the free food and alcohol you wanted!
My mother and I definitely took advantage of that.
I also tried a new beer brewed locally out of Richmond, VA.
It was pretty tasty.

I also got to meet an Olympic Gold Medalist from my area.
Her name is Francena McCorory.

She ran in the Women's 4x400m Relay.
That gold medal actually weighs a ton!
She let me hold it! That was pretty cool.

Saturday I spent most the day with my family relaxing.
Even went and got pumpkins and got froyo at Sweet Frog.

Yesterday I got my grocery shopping done and my dog's grocery shopping done.
My mother also got me a nice relaxing facial and eye brow wax.
I look like a lady again, instead of a werewolf. :)
And of course watched football in between my adventures.
My Eagles disappointed me horribly.

Well time to get some cleaning and organizing done at work!
Molly Maid out!

Here's some other pictures! :) Enjoy!

Scope is my second home!

My cousin Stacey, My aunt Cindy, My mother, and Me!

My sick pup Jonas cuddled up with his duckie and me!

Let her cry, if the tears fall down like rain...

Who knows where these lyrics are from?

If you guessed Hootie and the Blowfish you would be correct!!!!

I'm sure I will be hearing this tonight. As I am going to the Darius Rucker concert with my mom, my aunt, and my cousin. I absolutely love Darius/Hootie. I have seen him at least 4 times and I've met him twice. He is such a nice guy. I will go see him any time he comes around.

Please don't mind that I look like poo.

Being the lucky girl that I am, I've also met a few others. Some of whom I have been lucky enough to get pictures with. Here's a couple of others in which I've met.

This was actually a few weeks ago!
Train.

Gavin DeGraw.<3
Best Meet N Greet Ever!

I love my music and the artists...
But I'm more of a sports girl.
We definitely don't want to get me started on who I've met sports wise though.
Or else we would be here all day!

Any ways, I hope everyone has a spectacular weekend!
Mine will be spent with family & Beth @Arrow In The Eye .
Don't forget to check out her blog!

Did That Really Just Happen?

Have you ever sat back after seeing something and had to ask yourself, "Did that really just happen"? Well I've had a couple of those experiences lately.

The other day my friend and I were at the grocery store picking up a few things for dinner. There was a guy ahead of us in line who smelled like straight pot. You could tell the guy was stoned out of his mind. All he was buying was two 20 oz mountain dews. The lady bags them up, and he grabbed the bag and pulled it closer to him. He gives the lady the money for the products and she hands him his receipt. Then the guy proceeds to walk out of the store, with his mountain dews... or so we thought. No one noticed he didn't take them until after I was about to leave. Way to be stoned out of your mind sir and leave your drinks. I go to walk out and I suppose he forgot his joint in the ash tray too. Your mind is a terrible thing to waste.

The next instance I had wasn't as bad. We are currently in the process of moving our company and trying to get the information out to everyone. Yesterday my task was to send out letters to people who had left us their addresses. I was going through and hand writing them all until I came upon one that had to be a joke. I seriously had to write out and envelope to "Super Ninja". I asked my dad if this was legit. He said yes, that the guy wanted to be called Super Ninja. Do you know how awkward I felt writing a letter out to that name? Some people amaze me!

The last one I'm going to tell you about... is about one of my really close friends Robert. Poor Robert has the worst luck when it comes to the ladies, but for once that's not what surprised me about him. Robert is one of those people that is always going to have you laughing. I was making some breakfast for dinner last night and he came over. He was texting someone pretty intensely. Then all of a sudden he stops and looks at me and asks, "How do you spell wow?". I gave him the"are you kidding me look" and he didn't understand why. When I spelled it out for him, W-O-W, he just started laughing. Sad thing, it wasn't even close to the way he thought it was spelled. Oh yes, he tried sounding it out and came up with w-h-o-u something. He's not the brightest crayon in the box, but he's a good friend.

But now it's time to make some people happy and write some pay checks. I will try to post again later on! :) Leave me some comments and follow me.

For The Love of Hockey

Hockey is my #1 passion. I've grown up going to games all my life, I worked at a hockey rink, and I even started to play when I was younger. I'm that crazy fan who has the hockey tattoo on her leg and wears it proudly. If you read my last post, you saw that I'm a Flyers fan. For those of you who don't know much about hockey... Flyers fans are known to be the worst in the league. We are absolutely brutal.

I went to my first hockey game in Philly some years ago with my Father. It was actually for an AHL game though, so you figure it wouldn't be as bad. The team that plays here in Norfolk was playing against Philly in a playoff game so we decided to go. Mind you, neither of us had been to a game in Philly before. We were there to support our team... so what did we do? We wore our teams jerseys. We quickly found out that was a huge mistake. We got opened ketchup packets thrown at us, beer thrown at us, cursed out, and any other horrible thing that could happen. And that's where my love for Philadelphia blossomed.

I know you're probably thinking I'm a crazy person. But to me I saw an arena full of people who cared passionately for their team. If you wore anything Philly, you were accepted. But god forbid you wore nothing sports related or a different teams stuff... they were literally going to kill you.

I am a very intense hockey fan. Nothing comes between me and my hockey....  except this lock out. Come on guys, let's get it together. While the owners and players feud...the die hard fans, like me, are about to pull our hair out. Want to know why they are feuding?  There's $1 billion extra in revenue and they are trying to decide who gets the cut of it! Come on now! How about you just shut up and play hockey! I end up going to Philly for hockey at least once a season. I already had my game for this season picked out... and now they just want to crush my dreams.

If there is anything that have learned from this post... I hope it's to never go to Philly with a different teams shirt on. You won't come out alive.

First Things First

I'm new to this whole blogging thing, so please bare with me as I try to keep up with it. My sister set this whole thing up for me. Check out her link on the side of my page. Arrow In The Eye.  I suppose I should start off with telling a little about myself. The name is Holly if you haven't already figured that out. I am a steel distributor for my father's company. I have two furbabies, Jonas and Tucker. I am pretty fond of sports. I love the Philadelphia Flyers, Baltimore Orioles, and the Philadelphia Eagles. I have a pretty amazing man in my life. Long distance isn't easy, but we make the best of it. I am the coach of my kickball team, SchweatyBallz. Cleaning is probably the worst thing in the world. I am trying to get into a healthier life style... so if you know any good recipes let me know! My favorite color is orange. This is all I can think of right now. Time for dinner and some tv!  Check back in the next few days.
