Back to my regularly scheduled life

First of all, I hope everyone had a fantastic Labor Day yesterday! && Second of all, good luck to all the kiddos starting school today!
(Around here, it's the first day of school. I know some started a couple weeks ago though.)

One of these days it will be me posting pictures of my children going off to school and crying my eyes out, but until that day, I'll just keep posting pictures of my dogs. I'm definitely not rushing on the kids thing.

Well, today marks the first day back to work with no countdowns to the next vacation. The past few weeks have been a little crazy for me. My boyfriend and I took a vacation to see his parents and then we headed off for the mountains for a little getaway, just the two of us. I'll have to make a whole separate post for that vacation though, so be sure to check back this week.

This past weekend was spent at the beach house with my family. Our beach house pretty much stays rented out, so it's only a couple times a year that we all get to go down there together to spend some time together. Unfortunately it wasn't much of a beach weekend due to it being super windy, but we still had a lot of fun and got a lot of relaxing in!

Although I'm sad that I don't have any other vacations to start counting down to, I do have lots of other countdowns now... Here's a few I have going at this time:

Eagles Regular Season Football Starts- 6 Days
Flyers Regular Season Hockey Starts- 30 Days
Admirals Regular Season Hockey Starts - 38 Days
My Birthday- 49 Days
Halloween - 53 Days
Thanksgiving - 79 Days
Black Friday - 80 Days
MY GRADUATION!!!! - 102 Days
Christmas - 108 Days
New Years - 115 Days

I have a lot to look forward to, especially my long awaited graduation! Another thing I'm looking forward to is fall and colder weather! I can't wait for jeans and hoodie weather, crock pot meals, and pumpkin patches.

By the way, when is it too early to decorate for Halloween???

Time to get some homework done and get through this work day. Check back for my post on my mountain adventure!!! :)

Shenanigans

I hope everyone is staying warm this morning. I'm pretty sure this is too cold for November, but at least there is no snow! The cold weather couldn't damper my awesome weekend! Hoping everyone had fantastic weekends as well.

Friday evening was spent at the Norfolk Admirals game with my lovely god daughter. She's 3 and has been wanting to go to a game with me, so I finally took her to her first hockey game! I absolutely loved spending time with her, and taking her to do something I absolutely love. She had a blast and even got a puck from one of the player's during warm-ups, what a lucky girl. Even though she fell asleep half way through the game, I was happy to sit there and cuddle her as she slept. It really meant a lot to me to get to take her to her first game, so thank you Jordan and Faith for letting me take her!

Saturday I spent most of the day with my Mom. We decided to go shopping, and I spent entirely too much..... on the dog. I think other than for some Christmas presents for my god babies... I spent all my money on the dog. He's unbelievably spoiled, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I would really hate to see how I spoil my children, when I decide to have them. I can't even find a man though, so that will be a while! The rest of the night was spent at the hockey game, even though they ended up losing!

Sunday was spent cleaning up the house, spending time with my parents, and having Thanksgiving dinner with my friends and god babies! Faith and Jordan were ever so nice enough to invite me over for a delicious dinner, since I wouldn't be here for Thanksgiving. I love them, they always treat me right.

I'm excited for the short work week! I have to work today, then it's off to class as usual. Tomorrow I'm headed down to the beach house to help my mother clean up and get the house right for the Holiday weekend. Wednesday it's back to work and school! Wednesday night I'm going to head to the Admirals game then straight down to the beach house. Then it's relaxation time with the family.

I was looking at the Black Friday ads and I was pretty bummed to see that most of them start on Thanksgiving now. Guess we will go hit some up on Thanksgiving, then head home for a little bit of sleep before then next ones start up on Black Friday. I've already started pin pointing what I want. Is there anything you are looking for this Holiday season? Do you ever go Black Friday shopping!?

Hoping to have a nice blog post for you after the Holidays!? Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Holiday Season

The Holidays are quickly approaching and I've realized that I'm totally unprepared! I guess it's time to step up my game and get into the holiday spirit. Things have been pretty hectic lately, but it seems as though everything is calming down and won't be so crazy like I thought it was.

Can you believe that NEXT WEEK is Thanksgiving. Literally, it's in 10 days! Where has this year gone!? I think it's perfectly acceptable to go ahead and put up my Christmas tree this weekend. The only reason I say that is because I usually partake in the Black Friday shopping ritual. Yes, my Mother and I are those crazy ladies who plan out which stores and the strategies while in the stores. If I go ahead and get my tree up this weekend, I can wrap the things I buy for Black Friday and then don't have to stress about them at the last minute. I don't put up outside decorations, so chances are... I'll be the only one seeing my pretty tree anyways! If I don't get it put up this weekend, it will definitely be going up next weekend. I think putting up your Christmas tree is a little more socially acceptable on the weekend after Thanksgiving, but I play by my own rules, so we will have to see how it plays out!

I'm hoping to be spending Thanksgiving down in the Outer Banks, but nothing is definite. I'm pretty excited to switch things up this year, maybe start a new tradition. I really want to do my Black Friday shopping down there this year. Hit up the normal stores like Walmart, Kmart, and Belk...but then they also have the Outlets. They normally have great deals in general, so I'm sure Black Friday will be crazy down there. Fingers crossed that I can get some good deals this year, and if not... it's for the thrill of the game. Plus it's always a fun time for Mom and me.

Sitting outside waiting for doors to open last year!

What are some good movies coming out around Thanksgiving? I really wanna go see a movie with the family, Thanksgiving will be a day of relaxation, not one of cooking and cleaning for us! What are some of your traditions for Thanksgiving? Are you really into the Black Friday craze? Do you see it as worth your time, or do you get deals elsewhere? When do you start decorating for Christmas?

Never Fails...

So I knew coming into this whole blogging thing, that I wouldn't be good at it. I've tried to do other blog a few times. I get going on a good track and then it all just seems to fall apart like it has now. However, I usually don't try to save it once it's already hit rock bottom. For a little over 2 weeks now I've been coming and starting blog entries and getting no where. It's like I'm at a dead end road. I didn't know what people wanted to hear about, what would make people follow and keep reading. Then I realized... my blog is just about me. It's a place for me to just let whatever is stirring in my brain out! So that's what I shall do.

Holiday season is in full effect. Thanksgiving just pasted last week and I hope that all my American readers had a fantastic holiday! I know I did. Unfortunately my sister and brother in law were out of town for the holiday so it was a small get together for me! My mother made a fabulous lunch for Thanksgiving for my dad, my grandmother, my friend Robert, and myself. We were absolutely stuffed afterwards, to the point we had to take a nap.

I don't know how many of you do Black Friday shopping... but I do. Every year my mother and I go out in search of some great deals. This year we recruited my best friend Robert to come along with us. You know, thinking he's a man and he can muscle his way around. Well, poor Robert thought that everything he wanted to get, he would get. Oh boy was he wrong. He wanted a popular toy that was out, something in the electronics section, and a fire pit. He figured out very quickly that he isn't a fan of Black Friday shopping. I don't think he will be tagging along next year. Though he did come up empty handed with the major things he wanted... he still ended up getting some dvds, a few toys, and a nice shirt!

My mom and I take this whole Black Friday thing seriously. We have a plan before we enter the store and we stick to it. Somehow I always get stuck going to the shoe section in one store that we go to. Can you say absolutely ridiculously crazy?!?! All I got to say... is you better stay out of my way. I knock people out. Ok... Not really. But I do get feisty and will knock you out the way. Either way I get what is needed and meet mom in our preplanned location. Quick, simple, and effective. Mom and I came away with some awesome deals and a lot of the things we set out for. Watch and learn Robert, watch and learn.

Well that's about all we are going to get into in this entry.
How was everyone's Thanksgiving?? What are some traditions that you guys have when it comes to the holidays? Did anyone brave it out for Black Friday? Get any good deals?

Relaxing in the shopping cart before the Black Friday Frenzy begins!
Robert said you can't have Thanksgiving without a sandwich!
