Labor Day Festivities.

Happy Hump Day!!!! I hope everyone had a fantastic Labor Day weekend! I know I did. Friday night I went to dinner and a movie with a friend. For dinner we went to California Pizza Kitchen, can you say delicious!? Then it was off to see The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. I have mixed reviews on the movie. I've been reading the book series, and obviously they are never quite the same as the movie, but this one threw me for a loop. I spent more time saying, "This isn't how it was in the book", than actually enjoying the movie. I think had I not read the books, I would have absolutely loved the movie. It was a really good movie, don't get me wrong, but I tend to want the movie to play right along with the book. I'm on Book Four of the series now, can't wait to see where this series goes. If you haven't read The Mortal Instruments series, I highly recommend that you do!

Saturday was spent at the auction with my family. I was literally there for 9:45 to about 2:45. It's always a lot of fun at the auction, but it definitely takes your day away from you. At least there is some really yummy BBQ to keep you full! I did really well at the auction this month, I only spent $7. I bought a box of clothes for $5 because there was a Philadelphia Eagle's sweatshirt in it. I have no clue what else was in the box, since my mom and sister gave the rest to Goodwill. Evidently it was only little old lady clothes. I just wanted my sweatshirt. I also bought an old wooden office chair for $2. Don't laugh, I had been sitting in it all day, so I figured why not. It's actually missing a wheel, and the leg is broken but I don't care. I love my lovely office chair. I end up getting the weirdest things when it comes to auctions, but it's ok. Saturday evening consisted of sitting through 16 innings of baseball. Boy did my butt hurt after that! It was fan appreciation night, and guess what I won. NOT A SINGLE THING! I was pretty sad, not going to lie!

Sunday was pretty much a rest and relaxation day. I went to a cookout with my family before heading to the baseball game once again. We sat in the rain waiting to see if the game was going to be cancelled for an hour. After that hour was up, I was ready to go whether they were going to play or not. They did end up playing the game but not until two hours after it was suppose to start! It's ok, I went home and cuddled with Jonas anyways, which is always more enjoyable! Monday was nothing but homework and laundry. Literally... ALL DAY LONG!

I hope you all had a great time! Now it's time for a bit of a photo dump!!! Enjoy

It's A Dog's Life!!!

Hey there everyone! && Happy Friday!
I hope you all have quite the wonderful weekend planned out!
Tonight starts the summer season for SchweatyBallz kickball.
I'm super excited, mainly because I do not have to coach.
I can just go out there with no stress and have a blast with everyone else.

Today I decided to do a post on something I absolutely love more than anything in this whole wide world. I even love it more than hockey, and that's just unheard of! I'm talking about that spoiled pooch of my Jonas. Yes, I know I'm a crazy dog lady but I can't help it! I'm not married, I don't have kids, and I pretty much don't have much of a life... so Jonas is my life. I swear sometimes he doesn't know he is a dog though. And I take 120% of the blame for that. He literally is my child.

Baby Jonas in the Red! :)
I still remember getting him 5 years ago next month. It was right after I got back from my family vacation! My roommate at the time, had a sister who had puppies and we got one. I still remember the first night we had him, we slept in the living room on our couch with him. We put him in a tub so he wouldn't run around and mess up. Unfortunately all he did was whine and cry, so there was no sleep that night. Instantly, he stole my heart. Jonas is a Rat/Shih/Westie/Poo! :) Or you can call him a marvelous mutt! He wears clothes, gets his pictures professionally done, and has his own instagram!

You heard me correctly...he has an instagram!

Like any parent, I take way too many pictures of my dog...and he was clogging up my instagram, so I decided to make him his own. You would be surprised as to how many dogs actually have their own accounts...so I'm not the only crazy one! :)

You should definitely check him out, his tag is @jonasthepooch. Now I'm going to leave you a photo dump of my lovely furbaby! Hope you enjoy!

Back at it again.

So, I know I've been away for the last three months. Things have been pretty hectic in my life lately. Nothing bad, just been super busy. But I think this trip to Antigua really put some things into perspective to me. I spoke to couple very wise men while I was on my trip, and some of the things that they said have really stuck in my head.

Here in the States everyone is so busy, always rushing from one place to another. We truly don't sit back and take time for ourselves and appreciate what we have. At the beginning of our day in Antigua I was worried that our tour guide wasn't there on time. I'm usually 15 minutes early to everything (except work of course), so when 830 rolled around and he wasn't there I started getting worried. However it didn't take me long at all to realize that no one on the island was in a hurry. Everyone takes there time with everything, it's what you would call "Island Time". Even everyone driving around is patient. No one is honking horns because someone goes too slow, no one is causing accidents, and no one is flicking each other off or cussing them out.  I just love their out look on life! Many of them would never consider moving to the States because of how busy everyone is. Down there they realize what is important in life, and how precious it really is.

Another thing that I learned while I was there is just how hard working everyone is. It's not this super rich country with elaborate houses. Don't get me wrong there are some very beautiful places, but not many. They don't spend all their money on cars, and clothes, and electronics. Most of them are just getting buy. That's showed through their houses. Everywhere you looked were buildings that were started, but just looked abandoned. Come to find out, they are actually people's homes. Like I said, they don't have a lot of money. We were told that someone will start building a room and use what money they have, when they run out of money, they will take a break for a few years. Then they come back and build another room, then stop for a bit. So on and so forth. They could be building for 15 to 20 years but in the end they will have an amazing house. How they live in ONE room for years, I don't know. They are some very exceptional people!

I will be going back to Antigua. Everyone was so amazingly nice. From the cleaning staff, the wait staff, the tour guides, the taxi drivers, the people walking down the street, just everyone was so nice and welcoming. I would love to live in a place like that. Of course I would have to learn to speak Creole first. Which for them is a mixture of 4 different languages. The two main ones are English and West African. The other two are French and Dutch I believe. Quite interesting to hear them talk.

In closing I will leave you with  few pictures from the beautiful island. :)

Long Distance Isn't for the Faint of Hearts.

"Distance is not for the fearful, it is for the bold. It's for those who are willing to spend a lot of time alone in exchange for a little time with the one they love. It's for those knowing a good thing when they see it, even if they don't see it nearly enough..."

I guess you can figure out that I am in a long distance relationship by now. I always thought the people who were in LDRs were a bit crazy. I didn't understand how someone could go without seeing the one they love for months on end. That was, until I met the amazing man who I now call my boyfriend. I've been with him for about a year and a half now, and it's been the most amazing time of my life.

It all started on February 12, 2011. Yes I know, weird I know the date I met him. But it was actually my father's birthday, that's how I remember. I went out to the club with one of my best friends for her birthday. And we met these cute Canadian boys... And if you know me... you would understand my love for Canada and Canadians. Well I saw this extremely handsome man who wore a plaid shirt and a cabbie hat. I tried to scoot my way on over to talk to him, but he was having no parts of it.

All night I tried to talk to him and I continuously got shut down. I didn't know what it was about him that made me so persistent, but my goal was to get this guy to talk to me. Well it never happened and he ended up leaving that night with me only knowing his name and that he was from Canada.

Three weeks go by and it's Mardi Gras. I go out to what use to be my usual hang out, Big Woodys. I'm having a blast, throwing back a few adult beverages when who walks in... None other than mystery boy from the club. I start to freak out. My friend who was with me sees them and goes and sits down and starts to talk to him and his friends and tells me to come over there. I go over there and just sit there annoyed. This guy already shot me down once.. well many times in one night, so why try and get shot down again. Well the beverages kept flowing and the next morning he left to head back home. Spent all night hanging out and talking and getting to know each other better. I really did not want him to leave. I was loving spending time with him. I still only knew his name and that he was from Canada when he left. No contact information was exchanged between us at all.

This is where the world wide web comes in to play. I searched him on facebook and found someone who's profile picture I couldn't really make out. Ended up being him. I knew from that night at Big Woodys that I was going to fall for this guy.

And sure enough I have. He is the most amazing man I've ever been with. He's a kind, patient, understanding, funny, sarcastic, sweet, caring, thoughtful, sexy man ever. I can always count on him and I know I can always go to him with whatever is bothering me. Though we live 2500 miles apart...we make it work. My best friend & my boyfriend.

Awwwww so sappy right... Yea, he's turned me into one of those girls! :)
